안녕하세요, my name is Jo. I am from Seoul, South Korea and am a fully trained, qualified and experienced language teacher. I am currently working at the Sejong Institute (the equivalent of the British Council or Goethe Institute in the Korean language), offers private lessons for all levels. My knowledge and experiences can help you to learn Korean more efficiently and effectively!

- Courses are built to the needs and abilities of students from Korean Alphabet (한글) to TOPIK, from Sejong textbook to K-Pop lyrics.

- My classes are ;
1) Korean Alphabet (한글) & Basic expressions for beginners
2) General Korean language in four sections for all levels (Sejong or Sogang)
3) TOPIK for all levels

- Sejong is a main textbook but other textbooks can be used as well if you prefer.
- Practice material is provided.
- Lessons are in English for beginners and in Korean for intermediate & advanced.
- Free trial lesson is offered.

I started my teaching job about 10 years ago. Whilst teaching Korean as a voluntary worker, I realized that being a native speaker was not enough to teach someone else. That’s why I started my BA in teaching Korean as foreign language and just earned a master’s degree in Global Korean Studies. Currently I am working at Online Sejong Institute (the equivalent of the British Council or Goethe Institutes in the Korean language).

I enjoy teaching as I can meet people from various backgrounds. I consider myself quite a patient & encouraging teacher and use a various teaching method based on the students’ personality & needs.

I understand people do have different expectations & commitments about foreign language learning, but I hope you understand that you need to do a certain amount of work before & after class. I can help you to learn more efficiently and effectively.

Education
- MA in Global Korean Studies with a Major in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language
- BA in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language
- Teacher training at Seoul National University & Dongguk University

Experience / Qualifications
- Qualified & Certified Korean Language Teacher by Minister of Culture, Republic of Korea in 2014

- Currently working at the Sejong Institute (the equivalent of the British Council or Goethe Institutes in the Korean language)

- Worked at Multicultural Family Support Center in Seoul & Paju for 2 years including ;
1) Regular language course (level 3)
2) TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean, advanced level)
3) Korean Culture & Language (level 4)

- Worked at Rainbow Youth Centre in Seoul for 3 years including ;
1) Daily Korean Conversation for beginners
2) Learn Korean with K-pop (intermediate level)

- Various private tutoring including ;
1) Basic Korean Alphabet (한글)
2) Pronunciation Correction
2) TOPIK Part 4 (writing section)
3) Korean with modern Korean literature (intermediate level)

- Basel Korean School for Kids
