Greetings,

I'm Paula, a university graduate with a mixed heritage of Finnish and Chinese descent, I am passionate about exploring and exchanging cultures. Mandarin Chinese is my mother tongue, spoken in my household. However, my education was primarily in international schools, where English is the teaching language.

My teaching journey started during my university years in China, starting in 2018, when I began instructing English as a second language to preschoolers. In 2020, I transitioned to teaching Chinese as a second language in Finland. Currently, my focus lies on intermediate and advanced English learners and introducing beginners to Chinese. Most of my students are children from 7 to 18 years old.

In my English lessons, emphasis is placed on conversational skills and reading comprehension. I can tailor my lessons to suit your needs, for example preparing for standardized exams such as IELTS or YO.

In my Chinese instruction, I prioritize conversational proficiency, striving to create an immersive language environment within non-Chinese-speaking surroundings. Additionally, I can offer guidance for those preparing for the HSK 1-4 language examinations.

I also love to help students who are enrolled in a language course by providing homework help and conversation practice.

Typically my classes are 45 minutes for children and 60 minutes for adults, conducted at libraries or a location of your preference. Remote classes are also possible. For individual lessons, the price is 30 euros per session. For group sessions with 2-3 participants, the rate is 45 euros per lesson.
