Hello!
My name is Iasmina and I graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a bachelor's degree in English language and communication and Japanese studies. I also have a certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages (CELTA) awarded by Cambridge´s English language assessment.
In the past, I have worked as an English teacher in a summer camp in England. I also worked as an English tutor at two universities in Japan and at the English kindergarten of Kuopio in Finland.
I do have some basic Finnish knowledge but I prefer using only English in my classes as this produces the best results in my opinion. As a speaker of four languages, I understand the anxiety of speaking in another language, however, getting out of your comfort zone is the best way to improve and I will make sure to create a relaxed environment that will nurture this improvement!
I offer a wide variety of classes as I tailor them to each individual student and their unique needs. I had students that I helped prepare for exams like Cambridge or IELTS, or simply school or university exams. I also had students that wanted an informal relaxed atmosphere in which they can feel comfortable using their English speaking skills. I also had professionals that wanted to improve their business English.
