Who am I?

Hello! Moi! Ni hao! My name is Yunyan. I am a native Chinese teacher and certified as a “Teacher of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages” by CLEC (Center of Language Education and Cooperation). I started to teach Chinese language in 2020 and I have taught students of all ages from 4 years old to the elderly, and from total beginners to intermedia level with a diversified background of mother tongues, for example,
• Adults with specific personal and work goals.
• Finnish teens are genuinely interested in the Chinese language and culture.
• Children from Chinese families with academic goals.
• Children from relocated families trying to keep the Chinese language learning.
• Children who have a Chinese parentage to approach the Chinese language and culture.
• …and so on.

As a private tutor, I specialize in customizing the learning path and utilizing varied teaching tools according to the student’s needs & interests. My teaching method is dynamic and adaptive. For example,
• Private online lessons with adults focusing on speaking and listening.
• Group online lessons with teens utilizing different digital tools.
• Private online lessons for students preparing for IB school.
• Reading & writing lessons for intermedia-level students.
• In-person lessons with younger kids by playing games, singing, dancing, painting, cooking, etc.

Before I transformed into a language teacher, I worked for more than 20 years in multinational companies in China and Finland as a product and marketing professional. I have a master’s degree in business administration from École des Ponts ParisTech.

When: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, but weekend times can also be arranged if needed.

What:
• ONLINE classes (Google Meet, Teams, Zoom, etc.). A FREE video call for up to 30 minutes for organizing schedules, evaluating the current level, and a friendly get-together to know your language goals and needs.
• In-person lessons can be arranged in Helsinki, Vantaa, and Espoo.

Price: € (VAT is not included)
• 60-minute private lesson: 40e
• 60-minute group lesson: 80e (whole group)
• If you would like longer or shorter sessions, it’s possible to agree beforehand.
• Billing every 4 lessons by Finnish bank transactions
