Hi, I am Alessia, an experienced English teacher based in Helsinki.

I am Cambridge CELTA-qualified and have been teaching English to adults and teenagers in Finland since 2014.

I currently teach at Helsingfors Arbis and Helsingin Työväenopisto, and have previously worked at the Helsinki University Language Centre, Diakonia University of Applied Sciences, for various private agencies and as a private tutor.

My main aim as a teacher is to help people feel more comfortable and confident in their speaking and writing skills.

I tailor lessons to suit each client's individual needs, whether that involves developing specialised work-related vocabulary, improving fluency in everyday communication, or preparing for an exam, presentation, or job interview. I can also provide proofreading guidance for written materials.

Where needed, I can also communicate in Finnish. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Finnish Language and have worked as a professional Finnish–English translator.

I am able to meet face to face in the Helsinki region or have the lessons remotely.
